CHAOSC, Inc., originally SCHHEA, is a Christian Homeschool Athletics program currently offering boys and girls basketball and girls volleyball, with the hope of expanding to include more sports in the future.

Our primary purpose is to raise up Godly men and women by providing homeschool families with the opportunity to participate in competitive team sports.

CHAOSC’s foundation is on Biblical principles, and our Statement of Faith is clear on our beliefs.

Strive as we may, this organization is run by humans and mistakes will inevitably be made, so please remember to exercise Christian mercy, forgiveness, and reconciliation. If there are disagreements or concerns, those should be directed to the offending party and not spread among the membership creating dissention and division. Our Code of Conduct addresses our procedures for handling conflict resolution should the initial conversation fail to yield a satisfactory conclusion.

CHAOSC requires all member families to acknowledge and agree to abide by our Statement of Faith, Code of Conduct, and Bylaws, as well as to sign a Liability Waiver. Additionally, parents must provide a copy of their current year Notice of Intent to Homeschool (NOI) as well as their athlete’s birth certificate in order to register for a sport.

Practices and games may include prayer or Scripture reading, if this is offensive to you, please do not participate in the CHAOSC organization.

Practice Times and Locations

Practice scheduling is often at the mercy of gym availability as well as the schedules of the team’s coaching staff. Please be mindful that every one of our coaches is a volunteer and likely has a full-time job in addition to giving of their time to coach.

Schedule changes may arise based on various conflicts or issues, but coaches will communicate any changes as needed.

It is strongly encouraged for athletes to attend all practices and to arrive on time. “On time” means that the athlete is present and ready to go with their shoes on at the scheduled time. In team sports, an athlete’s presence at practice impacts the entire team’s ability to practice well. Coaches have the authority to administer consequences for missing practice time which may include loss of playing time or other disciplinary actions.

Playing Time

We strive to accommodate as many players as possible of various skill levels and avoid holding tryouts unless necessary. However, there is no guarantee of playing time on any team. We seek to put the most competitive team on the court, and although coaches will try to work most players into the game when possible, there may be games during which a player gets no playing time. As our younger players are still in the developmental phase, coaches for 10U and 12U may exercise more flexibility with playing time. However, this is still a competitive league and depending on the number of players on a team, a coach simply may not be able to play every player in a game.

Volunteers

CHAOSC is entirely volunteer driven. Each of our Board Members and Coaches are unpaid volunteers. As a volunteer driven organization, parents are critical to our ability to keep the organization running and are expected to be involved.

There are various needs for parent volunteers, particularly when we host home games. Some opportunities include pregame set up, collecting gate fees, helping in the concession stand, operating the scoreboard/clock, keeping the scorebook, keeping stats, and post-game cleanup.

Please be prepared to help during every home game so that we can create a welcoming environment for our guests and ensure a positive experience for everyone.
